RULES AND REGULATIONS      
 
  The Plymouth Speedway’s Demolition Derby is promoted as an unusual spectator attraction. Participants are subject to & must obey the following rules & regulations, which are set up by the SBMS Corp. Rules Committee.
A.                   Each driver must fill out an entry blank. All drivers must supply their own cars, only one entry per person. Proof of ownership should accompany each car entered.
B.                   Each driver must be 15 years of age. Any participant under the age of 18 must have a notarized release form signed by his/her parent or guardian.
C.                   The track or promoter reserves the right to approve or reject any and all entries.
D.                   Only owners, drivers, mechanics, etc., who sign the release sheet are allowed in the pits.
E.                   Contestants of the Plymouth Speedway Demolition Derby are not employees of Plymouth Speedway.
F.                    Plymouth Speedway will not be held responsible for any cars, parts or personal property before, during & after the show or overnight. Any cars left for disposal by Plymouth Speedway must have titles.
TYPE OF CAR
BIG CARS – Any Year Sedan or Wagon. NO Imperials, trucks, convertibles, jeeps, hearses, limousines or 4-wheel drive vehicles. All Suspension & Driveline Components Must Be Stock OEM Only For Make & Model! NO SLIP YOKES ON DRIVE SHAFT!
*** REARENDS MUST BE SAME MAKE AS CAR! 
For Example: Ford Car – Ford Rear end: Chevy Car – Chevy Rear end: etc.
*** RUBBER BODY MOUNTS May Be Replaced With 1/2 Inch Bolts & No Larger Than 2 Inch Washers!
***Ford Rear ends are O.K.***
 
        PREPARATION OF CAR
A.     Each driver & mechanic must sign in at the pit gate the day of show & have their car inspected at least one hour prior to show time.
B.     Autos must be swept clean. No junk tires, wheels, metal parts, broken glass, plastic, head lights, tail lights, marker lights from exterior of car before coming to track. Rolling down windows is not permitted. Removal of windshield is optional but safety straps must be installed from roof to cowl or dash. Ex. chain, scrapping, etc. Chrome molding strips & bottom portion of rear seats must be removed.
C.    Remove any sharp protruding fins or dangerous objects. (Mash down or cut off.)
D.     No special bumpers, reinforcements, fabrications or trailer hitches permitted. Shock type bumpers may be lightly welded or chained for safety purposes. Maximum Bumper Height of 22” to Bottom of Bumper. Bumpers should be wired to sheet metal to prevent coming off. Welded solid or chained down engine mounts are suggested.

E.                   Radiators must remain in original positions or be taken off. Comparable replacement radiators are permitted. Transmission coolers are permitted but only if they are secured inside the engine compartment.
F.                    COWL BAR PERMITTED ABOVE STEERING COLUMN ONLY. Roll bars are permitted behind front seat only with rear support braces only. All bars around driver must be padded. Roll bar material must be min. 1˝” & max. 3” diameter. Cage must be secured to frame only. No welding to roof, side doors or any other body panels. Rear support bars may extend no more than 12” rearward or upward. One cross bar behind seat for seat support. Door bars may be run from roll bar to front seam of door. OFFICIALS DECISION IS FINAL ON CONSTRUCTION & SAFETY.
G.                   All doors must be fastened shut by wire, straps, chains                                    Door seams may be welded on exterior panels only.
H.                   Batteries may be moved to any reasonable position in the car. But they must be securely fastened to the car & must be covered with a suitable shield. All cars must have hoods & full fenders. Cutting of fenders & bodywork for wheel clearance only is permitted. Bumper ends may be bent for wheel clearance only, but not cut off for use as a weapon.
I.                     Hood, trunk or tailgate may be wired down in four (4) places each, 2 strands of wire per hole. Wiring must be from sheet metal to sheet metal. No other wiring to frame. No chains, bands, bolts, pins or cables can be used. No welding of any seams on frame. Official’s decision on over use of wire. It is MANDATORY that an opening be cut in hood over carburetor approx. 12” square in diameter. Completely remove hood latch in case of fire. A hole should be cut in middle of trunk lid for visibility. Hood & trunk must be left open until after inspection.
J.     BOTH DOORS & ROOF MUST BE PAINTED WHITE WITH BLACK NUMBER OR BLACK WITH WHITE NUMBER. Special numbers are permitted. No Profanity At All On Car.
K.                   DOT PUMP GASOLINE ONLY! Stock gas tanks must be removed. A portable steel tank or approved poly carbon tank is required & must be placed on or in front of rear axle & no farther forward than the rear of the front seat. All tanks must be securely fastened to floor & covered; & should not exceed 6 gal. Ex-boat tank or motorcycle tank are excellent. Gas lines & fittings to fuel tank must be secured & leak proof. Only metal or rubber fuel lines are permitted. NO fuel line running thru driver compartment, subject to official’s approval. No plastic lines! Approx. 4 gal. of gas permitted per heat. Electric fuel pumps are permitted in engine compartment only and must have a clearly marked shutoff switch - Min 2” diameter, mounted on driver side of dash
L.                    DOT TIRES ONLY! Max. 10 ply rating (clearly marked i.e.: paint or crayon). No double tires or liquids in tires permitted. No studs or screws in rims to hold tire. OEM Wheels only. NO Welding of rims other than valve stem protection – NO SPLIT RIMS ALLOWED!
M.                  Wire or nylon mesh screen is recommended on driver’s window and windshield area.
